Die Fotoserie „Picture Disc at an a Exhibition“ zeigt Ausschnitte modifizierter Speichermedien wie CDs und DVDs. Diese Arbeit wurde zum einen als eine Geste des Upcycling der moribund optischen Datenspeichersysteme konzipiert, zum anderen um eine nachhaltige Zerstörung von Datenresten zu erreichen. DVD-Datenträger bestehen aus zwei Schichten Kunststoff, die die eigentliche Filmschicht einschließen, auf der die Daten digital gespeichert werden. Um die DVDs zu modifizieren, wird diese Schicht mit Chemikalien aufgelöst und mit Hilfe von Eisen, Schellack und Farbe mit einer organisch wirkenden Patina versehen. Im Rahmen der Installation „Pictures at an Exhibition“ werden diese Disks mit Hilfe eines maßgeschneiderten Kamera-Laser-Players akustisch und optisch angezeigt. Infolgedessen mutieren die früheren Speicherplatten zu echten analogen Ton- und Bildspeichermedien.

The photo series "Picture Disc at an Exhibition" shows excerpts of modified storage media such as CDs and DVDs. This work was conceived as a gesture of upcycling the moribund optical data storage systems, on the one hand, and on the other to achieve a sustainable destruction of data remains. DVD media consists of two layers of plastic that enclose the actual film layer on which the data is stored digitally. To modify the DVDs, this layer is dissolved with chemicals and provided with the help of iron, shellac and paint with an organic-looking patina. As part of the "Pictures at an Exhibition" installation, these discs are acoustically and visually displayed with the aid of a custom-made camera laser player. As a result, the prior storage disks mutate to true analog audio and video storage media.
